Went on another photo walk yesterday, this time at Sabino Canyon. I took the short Bajada loop trail and came across this roadrunner almost right away with a lizard in its mouth! I swapped to my zoom lens and looked for where it ran off to. I caught up with it again a few minutes later in some bushes wiping its beak on the branch that it's standing on. From looking at this picture you can really see how well the roadrunner blends in with the desert around it. It's definitely one of my favorite birds to observe in the wild and Sabino Canyon is one of the best places to find them!
